Christmas

Cami was a very good girl this year, so Santa (and family and friends) did not disappoint! She was spoiled, to say the least. Here are some pics from Christmas morning. Her favorite toy, by far, was the play kitchen. She enjoys taking the two plates, bowls, cups and silverware and setting them up (correctly, I might add) on the windowsill. She is setting a table for two by the window, I suppose!! Other favorite gifts this year include: a "big girl" tricycle from Grandmommy and Pop-Pop, an art desk, also from Grandmommy and Pop-Pop, a toy vacuum from Nana Kay, Elmo Live from her Godfather Danny and Wendy, Sesame Street Books and a stuffed Big Bird doll from Aunt Laura, and a baby "Palm Pilot" from Aunt Jackie and Uncle Mike. Thank you all for being so generous to Cami!!

Little Helper

Cami was very into the Christmas decorating this year. When we put the tree up, she picked ornaments from the storage box and walked them over to the tree one at a time. It was so cute. She was very proud of the finished product, and claps every time we turn the lights on to the tree. When her daddy went outside on Christmas Eve to line up the luminaries our street does every year, she wanted to help. She is so wise beyond her years.

Big Shoes to Fill/ Take a Bow

This is a double banger!! Two adorable baby tricks for the price of one! Not only does Cami walk around in her mommy's slippers, but she also takes a bow all in the same 53 second video. Motion Picture Magic!

No Fear

My daughter continues to be fearless, God bless her. She did not inherit this trait from me or from her father....but anyway...she has now taken to closing herself into our tiny downstairs bathroom when the lights are off. Once she closes the door and is all alone in the dark, there is no way for her to reach and turn the handle to let herself out. Instead of panic, she giggles as you will hear at the end of the short video demonstration of her new game.

Has It Really Been Two Months??

When I went to blog today I realized it's been TWO WHOLE MONTHS since I have added anything new!!! I am embarrassed and ashamed, frankly. I could blame this on the fact that Cami just doesn't do as many new things now that she is over a year--but that wouldn't be really true. I guess it's further proof that being a working mother is very time consuming!! My apologies to all those who are so faithful to Cami and her milestones!!

Happy Haloween!

We had a very eventful Halloween this year--as opposed to last year when Cami slept through most of the excitement! The day started off getting ready for school in a festive Trick or Treat outfit. Then Cami got ready for the costume parade at school. As you can see she was not thrilled about Mommy's costume choice this year. Although she didn't love the parade at school, she was much more excited about trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. She was very excited about all of the candy that quickly filled her jack-0-lantern, and became very possessive of it--guess Mommy and Daddy will have to sneak some samples secretly!!

First Pigtails

It's a moment I have patiently waited for since I found out I was having a girl.....PIGTAILS!!! Cami's hair is finally long enough to put into little tiny pigtails. I couldn't be more excited. It's moments like this when I realize how quickly she is growing that she absolutely takes my breath away.

Cami's Latest Game

It's funny how personality peeks through even at such a young age. Cami's latest game is getting herself in and out of her toy box. I love the little smile on her face that hints she is a bit devilish....

Johnson's Farm

This weekend we had a fabulous "Family Day". Since Cami needs to bring a "toddler-sized" pumpkin to school next week, we decided to go to the pumpkin patch. This farm is only a 10 minute drive from our house, and there was so much more to do there than just pick pumpkins!! We started out in the General Store to pick up some apples, apple cider and apple cider donuts. Yum! Then we headed outside into the bitter cold for some fun. There were things to climb on and slide down. Cami enjoyed herself although she was bundled up like an Eskimo and still had to deal with her lingering cough. Then we went to the pumpkin patch. Cami was a little overwhelmed by all of the choices, so her mommy helped her pick one. Then we headed home. This will definitely be an Anderson Family Tradition. Next year we will even try the petting zoo and the hayride!!

She's Writing Her First Memoir

So my daughter may not say a whole lot of words, but oh my, are her motor skills advanced! I got a hint of this at six months when she was feeding herself with a spoon. And she was fully walking on her own by 10 months. Now, at 13 months, she is actually holding a pen correctly! She can even make some scribbles on the paper! She is also very close to being able to put her shoes on--she is still trying to master the socks, however--they can be a bit tricky. I think my favorite part of this video though, is Chris' running commentary. I do feel excited as Cami may finally be showing parts of Mommy in her personality--like her love for reading and writing, but alas, my husband's personality always seems to poke through too-- as shown by her irreverant foot on the desk.

Golfer In Training

All of Chris' hopes and dreams may come true after all!! Cami is really taking to golf. She get very excited whenever Daddy puts in the living room. She gleefully chases after each and every golf ball and brings it back to him. She also picks up her mini-putter quite often to play with. College scholarship, here we come!!

Sums it Up

This picture really sums up our lives as of late. We are all EXHAUSTED! I am still trying to get back into the swing of things at school, though I must admit, it feels good to be back. Cami is fighting some sort of cold with a low grade fever. Plus she now has FOUR molars. I thought 13 months was young for these, but apparently not. She is really getting into the swing of "school" and has started to smile and laugh while she is there. This was such good news for all of us! She is being such a trooper in dealing with her new schedule, but she is so tired. And Chris is still plugging away hard at work (and golf while the weather still allows). We are quite a team these days.

Riding Bikes

Cami, her Daddy and I have been taking advantage of the nice weather by going on bike rides around the neighborhood. Cami is a trooper sitting on the front of the bike and even wearing her helmet!

Favorite Places (Year 2)

Although Cami still enjoys hanging out in the refrigerator, she now has a new favorite place: outside on the front step. She likes to stay out here for long stretches of time, just watching the neighborhood happenings. Too cute.

First Day of School

I was unable to freeze time, and so, Cami had to start "school" this past week. We are calling it "school" instead of daycare in an effort to prevent Mommy from having a total and complete nervous breakdown as she returns to work. I am happy to report, however, that so far, so good! Cami is doing well at school and likes playing outside with her classmates. Mommy is also doing well returning to work. Hopefully next week will be as successful as the first. These are some pics of us on our first big day!! You can tell by the look in Cami's eye that she new something strange was going on.
