She Has Met The Man

Cami has officially met Santa Claus. We went to the mall on Saturday so that Cami could get a picture with Santa Claus. She was all dressed up in her red velvet Christmas dress, white stockings and black Mary Jane shoes. She looked adorable, and even enjoyed being dressed up! I think she is going to get EVERYTHING she wants for Christmas this year because she is a very good girl, indeed!

Grandmommy and Poppi

Cameron certainly loves her grandparents. As well she should, because they take good care of her. They watch her every Friday night so Mommy and Daddy can have a date night. They also watch her on Mondays so Mommy can food shop. On these days they talk and laugh and sing together. It is darling to watch them get to know and love each other.

She Has Found Her Thumb!!

I must admit, I have mixed emotions about Cameron's newest discovery. I was a total "thumb sucker" and it was probably singlehandedly the reason I needed braces and a tortorous device known as a "bridge expander" when I was in middle school. Yes, it is in fact as terrible as it sounds. Anyhoo, Cameron now sucks her thumb on occasion, and although I see future years of braces looming in the distance, the bottom line is, she looks so darn cute when she does it!!

Santa Claus is Coming To Town!

So we have been decorating the house for the upcoming holidays, and Cami seems very excited about it all. Sometimes I sware she understands more than she should at 4 months. For instance, when she gets fussy and starts crying, if I start singing "Santa Clause is Coming to Town" she stops and smiles!! Does she know she is getting presents or what? Maybe she is just chuckling at my voice--who knows.

My First Thanksgiving (on training wheels)

So I hosted my first official Thanksgiving dinner!! This statement is true. We did eat in our dining room, which hasn't been used since we moved to this house (2 1/2 years ago), and we did use the china, which hasn't been touched since we got married (3 years ago), and the turkey was technically cooked in our oven. However, if I am being truly honest--my mom did most of the work. She prepared the turkey and brought it over. I watched it cook. She made most of the side dishes at my house--I watched and helped (a bit). Chris was even going to carve his first turkey--a true passing of the torch, but Dad did most of it as he taught Chris how. I think next year Chris and I will be ready and able to take on more of the responsibilities! It's not easy!! But you can bet I will be using microwavable mashed potatoes (not like the ones from scratch my mom makes) and I don't know if I am quite ready to pull the neck and other gross things out of the poor turkey--but we'll see. Cami also got quite dressed up and sat in her hight chair--with the help of some blankets to prop her up. She was so good and she is getting so big!!! Hope everyone had a great Turkey Day.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

So for all of my California friends--I just wanted to tell you that here in Jersey--it's getting cold!!! I remember when I lived in California, at Thanksgiving time we could eat with the door open and even still get a bit of a tan. Those days are long gone, but thankfully, my daughter is adorable no matter what I put her in. I just couldn't resist putting this picture on the blog.

Team Robin Doherty

On Sunday, Chris, Cami and I woke up early and drove into Philly for the Race for Hope. This was to support those who suffer with brain tumors. We did this in honor of our friend and neighbor, who we recently lost to this disease, Robin Doherty. Our team was the 4th highest in fundraising--bringing in over $10,000--all in Robin's memory. ALl members of Team Robin Doherty wore leis with her picture in her honor. It was a bittersweet day to celebrate those who are surviving, and to remember those who have not. It was definately a way for Chris and I to count our blessings. Thank you to all who donated to this cause. I was proud to walk for you and for Robin.

Happy Halloween!

Cameron was a little too small to trick-or-treat with this year, so we stayed home and handed out lots of candy in our neighborhood. We did however have time to dress up!! Mommy couldn't decide between angel or witch. Next year Mommy wants me to be a chicken!! She thinks it's the cutest costume ever. Next year will probably be the ONLY year she gets her say!! Enjoy!

Sam Woods Vs. Cami

Although I believe my husband has enough nautral golf talent to take on Tiger Woods, we must face facts and realize, that at this point in our lives, that is just not going to happen. HOWEVER both Chris and I believe that since Tiger's daughter and our daughter are only one month apart in age, the stage has been set for the future battle for best female golfer. My husband recently learned that Sam Woods is able to pick up a golf club already at four months of age. Wasting no time Chris had Cami "practicing" at 3 months. Stay posted. Also we are so proud to report that Cami can now roll over all by herself!! As soon as I fugure out how to put video on this blog I will!! You know you are a parent when the littlest things make you proud!!

Big Weekend!!

This was a big weekend for the Anderson Family!! On Saturday we baptized Cameron Juliet. This also happened to be my 31st birthday as well as our 3rd wedding anniversary!! A celebration was in order. Because I recently became Catholic, my husband and I had to get our marriage blessed before we baptized Cameron. This turned out to be very special. We got to "re-new" our marriage vows in front of some close friends and family members. Chris and I walked down the aisle together with Cameron in our arms. It was really nice, and I even got a little choked up as I promised to love "in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health..". There is just something about those words. Then we baptized our baby girl. She looked so beautiful in her long white dress. She was such a good baby. She napped through most of the service, and although the priest woke her up with the first splash of water on her head, she just wiggled a little and remained content. She didn't cry the whole time!! My parents threw us a little champagne brunch after the ceremony to celebrate all of the occasions. It was a weekend I will never forget.

Daddy's Little Girl

You know, it's funny really. I was the one to carry her for nine months, and deal with neasea, sleepless nights and an expanding waist line. I was the one that had to get the epidural, dialate to 10 centimeters and deliver her. I am the one who wakes up in the middle of the night to feed her. And yet--she ADORES her daddy. I never thought I would be okay with watching my husband fall in love with another girl--but it is such a blessing to watch.

Baby Model

So at this point, thanks to many generous presents, my baby girl has a designer closet to die for. She outdresses her mother, by far. So, I am thinking she may be on the road to becoming a model. I don't think Ralph Lauren's clothes have ever looked so good. Perhaps I am biased--only time will tell!

She's Ready for her Close-up

We got a new camera this weekend because our other one died, and Daddy had a little fun taking some close-up shots.

Fashion Show

So one of the best parts of having a little girl is, of course, the clothes. I am already torturing her with cute bows and shoes and dresses and hats. I'm sure she will hate me later, but in the meantime, I am getting quite a kick out of dressing her. Here are some of my favorite looks!

Puppy Love

I once heard a dog trainer explain that when you have something a dog wants, they will offer you their most prized possession as a trade for the item you hold. Saddie, our big girl, has tried this trade with us on many occasions since we have brought Cami home from the hospital. Each time we are holding the baby, Saddie will bring her toy, The Suspicious Chicken, and drop it at our feet. Apparently she thinks we will then give her the baby. This plan of Saddie's fails each time. So now she has resorted to trying to give Cami the toy. Her plan has still not worked--but it made for a great picture!!

Yes, Sir, That's My Baby!!

Here she is during one of my favorite times of the day: bath time. She is so cute when we take her out of the tub and put the towel around her!!

August 2nd 2007

A day that I will never forget. After a fairly pain free labor (God bless the epidural), Cameron Juliet came into the world (with the help of forceps) at 1:42 PM and forever changed our lives.

Preggers

This picture was a gift for my husband's birthday in July--2 weeks before I gave birth! I took it all by myself which was quite a feat running back and forth before the timer went off!

My husband and me on our wedding day almost 3 years ago. Oh how time flies!
