New School

So there was one traumatizing event toward the end of 2009. Cami was bit on the face at school. Yes, I did use "bit" and "face" all in the same sentence. This was done by one of Cami's favorite friends at school, and one who has bitten her several times before. The incidents before were on her arm or hand, so this time it was a bit more upsetting. I will spare you the pictures of the wound--though it was horrendous and took a week to fully heal. The way her school and teacher handled the whole situation was just not acceptable for any of us in the family, so we had to search and find a new school. This was especially hard for Cami because she loved her school, her teachers and all of her friends there, but Chris and I just couldn't leave her there and feel safe anymore. I was so upset about starting the school search and adjustment all over again, but I knew in the long run, for the safety of Cami and the happiness of her Mommy, it would all be worth it.
We ended up finding a school sent to us from God above! The facility itself is outstanding. Immaculately clean and beautiful. It is like Disneyland! It has a koi pond in the middle of it, and the classrooms all have a Victorian village facade. She travels every half hour to different subjects like Spanish, art, music, yoga, computers, literacy, science and math. How amazing! Plus there is a fabulous outdoor play area and a water park for the warmer months. Oh, and it's just a bit cheaper than her last school. Thank you, Jesus!!
Cami also has to wear a uniform two days a week--which I am fully okay with. She looks so cute in her little dress!
She seems to be making the adjustment well. Each day she seems a little happier, and although she often asks about her old friends (even the biter), she does seem to be talking a lot about a new friend named Peter.
